Engagement photos aren’t about performing for the camera.
Engagement season is one of our favorites. It's an amazing time to head out on an adventure or reminisce and wind up in old favorite haunts to take all of your social media announcement, save-the-dates, and invitation photos. This is the start of your forever journey! We want to encapsulate who you two are as a couple in ways that will always bring a smile to your face, even fifty years from now. And it's an amazing opportunity to get to know you as our clients and really connect like old friends.
We LOVE some public displays of affection, and you'll be doing lots of it during an engagement shoot with us. There will be lots of hugging, kissing, tickling, piggy-back rides, and laughing. And occasional snowball fights if the weather allows. We live for those silly moments that showcase just how in-love our couples are. All of our wedding packages include a one or two hour engagement session!

That’s completely normal. Our job is to make this easy. During your engagement session, Hunter & I will give you tons of goofy direction and natural prompts so you’re never left wondering what to do, while still leaving room for the candid moments that make your photos feel real.

What should we wear?
After booking, I’ll send you a full engagement session style guide. Think neutral tones, layered textures, and outfits that feel comfortable and like yourselves. I’m also happy to look over outfit options before your session.
When should we schedule our engagement session?
Most couples plan their session 6–12 months before the wedding, but there’s no single “right” time. Spring is lush, summer is golden, fall brings warm tones, and winter sessions can feel especially quiet and romantic.
Do you travel outside Portland?
Yep! We photograph engagement sessions all over Oregon and Southwest Washington. Travel fees may apply for farther locations.
What if it rains?
We’ll always have a plan. Light rain can actually photograph beautifully, but we can adjust locations, shift timing, or reschedule if the weather truly isn’t workable.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes, please!!! I will spend the first five minutes loving your sweet pup—pets are family. But let me know ahead of time, so I can help you choose a location that specifically allows pets to attend!
