Josh is at least twelve percent of the reason that Hunter and I are married— he was the one that hired me at the company where we met, he was a groomsman at our wedding, he’s an uncle to our baby girl, so when Hunter came home one day and told me that Alyssa and Josh were FINALLY engaged and Alysa had been the one to propose, I actually jumped up, ran around our kitchen and immediately asked if I could be the one to capture their engagement photos.
I had been waiting for this news for a while.
On the day that Josh and Alysa had their session booked, Vancouver and the Portland Metro area was having a ‘storm of the generation’. Twenty degree weather and freezing ice conditions crippled most holiday travel two days before Christmas. But! Alysa wanted snow and trees for her hallmark card engagement dreams, so weather be damned, we headed up north about an hour to the foot of Mt. St. Helens.
Little did we know, or expect, that twenty degree weather turned into 14 degree weather when on top of a small mountain. With wind.
But Josh and Alysa got to play in the snow, and we captured some beautiful hallmark card shots, and at the end of the day, that’s what we’ll all remember. So excited for the journey these two are about to go on, and Hunter and I are so happy that we get to share it with them.
